Turning Off Security Notifications in Windows XP

Ever wish you could stop those annoying pop-ups that show up just above your clock that tell you about security updates? Good news - you can, and here's how:

1. Go to your Control Panel. To do so, click the Start button in the lower left-hand corner.

2. Click on the Security Center.

3. Click on Change the way Security Center alerts me.

4. When the box pops up, notice the three different notifications that are selected.

5. Uncheck each of the notifications you would like to stop.

6. Click OK.
