Sending a Screen Shot in an Email

Here's a great little trick that could come in handy sometime. Have you ever wanted to send someone a picture of exactly what you are looking at on your computer? There is an easy way to do this using Microsoft Office and many other email programs:

1. When you are looking at something that you would like to share with someone press the Print Screen button on your keyboard. This button is typically located in the top right corner. (Note: On many laptops, the button exists as a second function of another button. You may need to consult your manual to learn how to use the secondary functions, but in most cases it is as simple as holding down your "function" or "fn" key while pressing the button that has the "Print Screen" or "prt sc".)

Once you have pressed the Print Screen button, whatever is on your screen at that moment will be saved to your clipboard. The clipboard is a nickname given to the place where your computer temporarily saves information every time you copy or cut.

2. Now that the information is on your clipboard, you may paste this picture into an email. To do this, open Outlook and click on New to create a new email.

3. With the new email window open, simply right-click anywhere in the text box.
